Cookies

I'm on a cookie compulsion thing...I decided I'm making cookies for the next three days. I'm going to make 6 batches of cookies and put them in tins for Christmas. The only problem is it will probably snow when it is time to give them to the people I want to give them too. So...

I took down the picture of Joe Torre being sprayed with champagne. It’s kind of a downer now. I haven’t been blogging for a while, again. Basically I’ve been eating out a lot and that’s it.

Another Weekend Wrap Up

Friday night I had my second Meetup for my Southern Connecticut Dining out group. We went to Caffe Adulis in New Haven. It was pretty good. There was jazz music too. 6 people out of 7 showed up. So, the turnout was pretty good.

I went swimming twice at my parents’ house this weekend. It will be the last time I go swimming for the season :( . Oh well.

I am going to be starting back to work at my part time job, hopefully, this week. I am excited about going back.

Weekend Recap

This was a big eating weekend for me and my Mom. We went to see "Wicked" in New York and we stayed at the Marriott with my Marriott Points. We went for brunch at Bryant Park Grill. It was good, but not really worth 27 dollars.

We went to the matinee for the musical. I thought the show was pretty good but I don't really see how people seem to get addicted to it and need to pay to see it multiple times...just my opinion. It seems to have a cult following and people were being really noise and talking through it. Not a good environment for first timers. Good show though...

After the show we went for dinner at Artisanal. It was really really really really good. I think it will be one of my new favorite restaurants along with Union Square Cafe. I had the artisanal fondue. I thought I was in heaven. After that, we met my friends Erika and Deborah at Veniero's. That was really great. It's an old-school pastry shop and we will definitely be returning. Sunday morning Mom and I went to Norma's and it really was very nice. Definitely deserves the "best breakfast" in New York status.

Thankfully we did a lot of walking so I don't think I gained too much from visiting all those restaurants.

38

I turned 38 on Saturday. I just went to my parents’ house and we had Chinese food. It was fun. The weekend was a little chilly and I noticed as I was driving home yesterday that some of the trees are already starting to turn. It’s stilllll August!

Today I brought cake into work and I got some birthday cards.

Birthday over.

Last night I bought another thing on Etsy. I bought this Zine that is a compilation of interesting things that this library worker in England has found and collected while shelving books in her library. Etsy is cool.

Holiday

I took a week’s vacation and went to see my friend Ione in Cape Cod. I posted some pictures from the whale watch on my flickr account. I had a great time. Ione brought me around to a lot of places on the Cape and the whale watch was awesome. I also spent a few days at the pool at my parents’ house.

Weekend Recap, etc.

This weekend I went to New York on Saturday with my Brunch Club and ate at the Telephone Bar and Grill. It was good but it wasn’t quite British. After that, I bought some dishes at Fishes Eddy in Union Square. Then my friend Aki and I went to Central Park and people-watched for a while. Sunday, I went to the Talbots Outlet and found a few nice shirts. I went to Jo-Anne’s Craft store and got a frame for this print I bought. I think it is nice.

Tonight is a big TV night. I am excited to watch the homerun derby. I don’t care so much about the all-star game. Then I’m going to see how that mini-series “The Bronx is Burning” is. This is probably too much t.v. but I’m usually watching baseball anyway.

Washington D.C. Photos

Here's my link to the photos from D.C. Yahoo photos is ending and I had to move all my photos to Flickr. I only have 6 photos on there now. I will try to get to it today or tomorrow and upload the rest.

Look at this picture

I went to Long Island City last weekend and I took this picture. It's just too bad that there were so many clouds in the sky.

1 1/2 Months later...

I’ve decided to not feel guilty because I haven’t been writing anything on my blog. I guess I should just be happy that I’m too busy to sit in front of the computer all the time.

I’m going to the Yankees game tomorrow. So, I’m excited about that. Then Sunday I am Going to the Riverview Restaurant with my Brunch Club.

Last weekend was pretty busy too. I went to the Book Expo. It was very fun and I got lots of free books.

Is this thing on?

I don't think that I'm a very good blogger. Maybe I should quit. I will try to blog this week and see if I have the initiative.

Seattle Pics

I don't feel like making a web page for my Seattle pics so I just loaded them to my Yahoo Photos in a folder called "Seattle".
I haven't blogged for a while

I went to New York on Sunday and stayed over. It was freezing cold. All my blogs are about my weekends. I don't think I'm very good at blogging. I don't wear my heart on my sleeve enough, I guess. Anyway, I got my highest electric bill ever yesterday $400!!! So, that's my sad news. Boo hoo.

All I ever do is post weekend recaps….

This weekend I worked on Saturday at my part time job. I don’t remember what I did in the evening. Probably laundry.

Sunday, I had brunch club and we went to Josephina. It was pretty good. I had crab cakes benedict. I really liked the egg and the sauce on top of the crab cake, but I also missed the bread a little. After brunch I went to the New York Public Library with my friend, Aki. They had an exhibit that was ending on Japanese picture books. It was pretty cool. Most of them were old and rare. I’m still working on my Seattle pictures. There aren’t many of them but I wanted to put them on my web site instead of a photo homepage.

Tonight I taught my first bibliographic instruction class since I started my new job. It went really well. That's because they were graduate students. When I first opened the room about a half hour before the class was supposed to start, some undergrads came in and said they were in the class and some of them immediately loaded some game sites. I was so glad that they were there by mistake and left.

Weekend Recap

What a weekend! I went up to my parents' this weekend. I thought it was going to be a slow and take-it-easy type weekend. Well, Saturday was anyway.

Saturday night I had to decide to remove one of my assistant organizers from my brunch club. I get so annoyed when I have to play "the judge". Anyway, it's a long story but I had complaints, I had to deal with it to make sure that everything is "fair". I just get so annoyed sometimes. I was talking to my Dad about it on Saturday because there have been a lot of complaints lately and I said and I continue to say I'm not responsible for people's social lives. Anyway...I don't like people who name names in their blogs and bitch about people so I guess I'll drop it. I just wish people would take more responsibity in my club for hosting events and not count on Erika and I all the time.

Sunday, I went to the Connecticut River with my brother and we did some eagle-watching. The photo above is one Joe took of the eagle after it swooped down to the river and got a fish. After it caught the fish, it landed on some ice and started floating down there river. There were three eagles in the sky harassing the first eagle and trying to see if they could steal the fish. It was pretty cool. I could see it clearer than the pic with my binoculars.

After that we went to this place called Dave's Barbeque or something in New Britian. We had the craziest waiter I've ever seen in my life. He was crazzzzy. I mean it. First of all, I hate it when you go out to eat and the waiter pulls up a chair and sits down. That is so rude. When we got our food, he explained the sauces because I guess a sauce called "devil's spit" isn't self-evident. But here's where the crazy comes in. At one point when we were eating he came by and he said, "Did you put the vinegar sauce on your fries yet? Why not? Didn't you believe me when I said it would taste good?" What a freak. Then later he came up to Joe and said, "Are these the best ribs you have ever tasted or what?" Joe said, "They're okay". Then the kid goes, "what do you think you can make bettter ribs than this?" I thought I was in the twighlight zone. Oh my gosh. Joe looked like he was really really mad and he wanted to just get the hell out of there.

Anyway, that was the weekend.

I still haven't posted my pics from Seattle. I spent some time tonight typing minutes from meetings. So, I prob won't have time to do it for a while.

Midwinter

I just got home from the Midwinter ALA meeting in Seattle. I have a little jet-lag so I haven't blogged anything about it. I just downloaded my pics tonight. I don't think I have many good pics. I'll post them to my website, maybe this weekend.

The conference was good. I had to take a lot of minutes. I saw my friends from Florida.

Here is one pic that came out okay.

Happy New Year to my two blog readers. You know who you are. I had a good Christmas and New Years. Now it is time to start another year.

I had a good break. I was able to take some days off of work and hang out with my parents and my brother. Then this week I was off from my part time job. I can't say, however, that I was very productive. I just sat around and played my Nintendo DS. What's wrong with me?

I will do my chores on Sunday, I suppose. Luckily my laundry is caught up. Another exciting entry...
