F is for Frittata

I made my first frittata tonight. It was actually a success and not burnt! I got the recipe from the Union Square Cafe cookbook. It had tomato, basil, thyme and crabmeat. It was the first time I have cooked anything from that book in a while.

Bran Muffins Are Good For You.

I made this recipe tonight. I like it much better than the regular All-Bran recipe. I used shaved almonds instead of chopped.

What's been happening...

I went to my first Yankee game of the season a few weeks ago with my friend, Aki. It was pretty cold and damp out. The Yankees lost pretty bad. I don't go again until the first week in May.

Last weekend my brother and I went to New York and tried a bunch of restaurants we saw on the food channel. Pommes Frites was really good. So was the sundae at Serendipity.

On Sunday I went to Cafe Boulud and that was really excellent. After brunch I walked in the park with my friend Nyldenn. We saw a wedding at Tavern on the Green and one of he bridesmaids was smoking a cigarette in her tacky dress. It was pretty funny.

They're here...

I tracked my tickets and I knew they were coming today. Even the UPS man was excited to deliver them!

Happy Easter

I haven't blogged in over a month. I need to try to have more initiative for this.

I guess that means I'm keeping busy and I'm just not recording it here.

Anyway, 8 days until baseball. http://www.geocities.com/tocej/yankees.html

Cookies

I'm on a cookie compulsion thing...I decided I'm making cookies for the next three days. I'm going to make 6 batches of cookies and put them in tins for Christmas. The only problem is it will probably snow when it is time to give them to the people I want to give them too. So...

I took down the picture of Joe Torre being sprayed with champagne. It’s kind of a downer now. I haven’t been blogging for a while, again. Basically I’ve been eating out a lot and that’s it.

Another Weekend Wrap Up

Friday night I had my second Meetup for my Southern Connecticut Dining out group. We went to Caffe Adulis in New Haven. It was pretty good. There was jazz music too. 6 people out of 7 showed up. So, the turnout was pretty good.

I went swimming twice at my parents’ house this weekend. It will be the last time I go swimming for the season :( . Oh well.

I am going to be starting back to work at my part time job, hopefully, this week. I am excited about going back.

Weekend Recap

This was a big eating weekend for me and my Mom. We went to see "Wicked" in New York and we stayed at the Marriott with my Marriott Points. We went for brunch at Bryant Park Grill. It was good, but not really worth 27 dollars.

We went to the matinee for the musical. I thought the show was pretty good but I don't really see how people seem to get addicted to it and need to pay to see it multiple times...just my opinion. It seems to have a cult following and people were being really noise and talking through it. Not a good environment for first timers. Good show though...

After the show we went for dinner at Artisanal. It was really really really really good. I think it will be one of my new favorite restaurants along with Union Square Cafe. I had the artisanal fondue. I thought I was in heaven. After that, we met my friends Erika and Deborah at Veniero's. That was really great. It's an old-school pastry shop and we will definitely be returning. Sunday morning Mom and I went to Norma's and it really was very nice. Definitely deserves the "best breakfast" in New York status.

Thankfully we did a lot of walking so I don't think I gained too much from visiting all those restaurants.

38

I turned 38 on Saturday. I just went to my parents’ house and we had Chinese food. It was fun. The weekend was a little chilly and I noticed as I was driving home yesterday that some of the trees are already starting to turn. It’s stilllll August!

Today I brought cake into work and I got some birthday cards.

Birthday over.

Last night I bought another thing on Etsy. I bought this Zine that is a compilation of interesting things that this library worker in England has found and collected while shelving books in her library. Etsy is cool.

Holiday

I took a week’s vacation and went to see my friend Ione in Cape Cod. I posted some pictures from the whale watch on my flickr account. I had a great time. Ione brought me around to a lot of places on the Cape and the whale watch was awesome. I also spent a few days at the pool at my parents’ house.

Weekend Recap, etc.

This weekend I went to New York on Saturday with my Brunch Club and ate at the Telephone Bar and Grill. It was good but it wasn’t quite British. After that, I bought some dishes at Fishes Eddy in Union Square. Then my friend Aki and I went to Central Park and people-watched for a while. Sunday, I went to the Talbots Outlet and found a few nice shirts. I went to Jo-Anne’s Craft store and got a frame for this print I bought. I think it is nice.

Tonight is a big TV night. I am excited to watch the homerun derby. I don’t care so much about the all-star game. Then I’m going to see how that mini-series “The Bronx is Burning” is. This is probably too much t.v. but I’m usually watching baseball anyway.

Washington D.C. Photos

Here's my link to the photos from D.C. Yahoo photos is ending and I had to move all my photos to Flickr. I only have 6 photos on there now. I will try to get to it today or tomorrow and upload the rest.
